Colin Wharton (Cinnaminson/Camden Catholic) added more postseason accolades to their resume as they were selected for
ECAC postseason honors for 2019.
Swedlund was voted ECAC Offensive Player of the Year and All-ECAC First Team while Anderson and Wharton picked up All-ECAC Second Team honors. The trio helped Stockton to a school-record 18 wins and the first ever conference title along with the first NCAA Tournament appearance in school history.
Swedlund continues to add to his collection of postseason honors. The attackman previously was named USILA All-American Honorable Mention, Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Player of the Year, CSAC First Team and MVP of the CSAC championship game.
The sophomore had a record-breaking season for Stockton, setting school marks with 100 goals and 118 points. Swedlund was named ECAC Player of the Month for March and topped the CSAC in goals, goals per game, points, points per game and shots per game.
Swedlund potted nine goals in a game twice this season and amassed 11 points on two occasions. He leads all NCAA Division III players in goals (100) and goals per game (4.76 gpg) and also ranks sixth in points per game (5.62 ppg) this season.
Just two seasons into his career, Swedlund already has amassed 141 goals, tied for fourth all-time at Stockton, and 168 points (141 G, 27 A), good for eighth in school history.
Anderson had a breakout season, scoring 61 goals with a school-record 54 assists for 115 points, second in school history behind Swedlund. The junior was a CSAC First Team selection and ECAC Player of the Month for April. He led the league in assists per game (2.57 apg) and ranked second in points per game (5.48 ppg) and third in goals per game (2.90 gpg).
Anderson also stands 12th nationally in points per game and 19th in assists per game. He dished eight assists in one game this season and totaled 10 points twice. With a year to play, Anderson has dished 90 career assists, tied for fourth at Stockton, and totaled 179 points, which is sixth in school history.
Wharton picks up another accolade after becoming the first player in school history to earn three USILA All-America Honorable Mention nods. In addition, he was named CSAC Defensive Player of the Year and a CSAC First Team honoree this season.
Wharton started all 21 games on defense for the Ospreys this season and all 56 games over his three years at Stockton after transferring from Jacksonville University as a sophomore.
Wharton scooped 38 ground balls and registered 13 caused turnovers this spring, sparking the Ospreys to a 9.58 goals against average. In three years at Stockton, Wharton grabbed 116 ground balls and caused 43 turnovers, with three goals and one assist for four points.
The senior will end his career by playing in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division III Senior All-Star Game sponsored by Warrior today. Wharton will play for the North team in the contest, which is slated for 5 pm at US Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Maryland.
