Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (16-8, 6-0 NJAC) cruised past Rutgers-Newark (9-11, 1-5 NJAC) 3-0 for its fifth straight win. The Ospreys remained undefeated in conference play with the sweep. Stockton posted a .390 hitting percentage and served 12 aces.
Camille De La Torre (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) led the way with a match-high 10 kills and a .471 hitting percentage.
Ashley Carkhuff (Hackettstown/Hackettstown) spiked eight kills followed by
Rileigh Wilson (Milton, Del./Cape Henlopen) with seven kills and .455 hitting percentage.
Kate Louer (Clifton/Clifton) recorded six kills with no errors on nine attacks for a torrid .667 hitting percentage.
Regan Mendick (Newark, Del./Red Lion Christian) and
Kristen Burton (Millersville, Md./Archbishop Spalding) handed out 16 and 12 assists respectively.
Aubrey Rentzel (York, Pa./Central York) served a match-high five aces to go with seven assists.
Molly Eng (New Providence/New Providence) contributed a match-high nine digs in the back row.
Nicole Palmer (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip) tallied all six of her kills in the first set as Stockton rolled to a 25-8 rout. De La Torre smacked five kills in a 25-17 second frame. Wilson paced the Ospreys with five kills and De La Torre added four as Stockton closed out its fifth win in a row 25-13.
Mia Espinoza topped Rutgers-Newark with four kills and Elvin Karakaya scooped eight digs for the Scarlet Raiders.
After a weekend off, Stockton will host William Paterson in an NJAC match on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
