Say hello to our Chatbot Hugo

Hugo has been training all summer and is now available to assist you 24/7/365. You can find Hugo on Records & Registration, Student Financial Services, Student Accounts, Academic Advising, Undergraduate Admissions, Graduate Admissions and Service Desk websites. You can ask him questions like,

When can I register?
Why do I have a hold?
How much is my bill?
How much is my financial aid?
How do I get a transcript?

Confirming Enrollment and Starting Classes

You need to confirm your enrollment prior to starting classes at New Paltz. This is easily done by signing into my.newpaltz.edu and following the prompts.

When is the prompt to confirm enrollment available?

The prompt will become available to you after you pay at least 50% of your bill or accept the time payment plan. Need more information about billing?

What if I change my registration?

You only need to confirm enrollment once a semester, even if you change your schedule. If you do not confirm enrollment, you will not be allowed to attend your classes or receive Brightspace course information. Students who do not confirm enrollment by September 26 will be deregistered from their classes.

Let faculty know you are there

It is important to let faculty know that you are attending class whether the class is taught online or in-person. Sign attendance sheets, respond to discussion boards, submit assignments, answer questions, whatever your class requires to let faculty know that you are present and participating.

Faculty are required to let us know about students who never attended class during the enrollment census reporting period, September 27-30. Students who are confirmed as never attended, will be withdrawn from class.

Adding and dropping courses

You can still make schedule changes for full semester courses until the end of the day on September 11. Always check with your advisor before making any changes to be sure that you are progressing to your degree. Go to my.newpaltz.edu > Registration > My Schedule Planner

Permission to Enroll during late registration week

Monday, September 5 - Sunday, September 11

We undertand that late changes are sometimes necessary. Web permission by instructor or Department Chair is required for any schedule change September 5-September 11. Once the permission to register is entered, remember to register on the web for the class. Fees apply.

No registration changes can be made for full semester courses after September 11.
