Stockton Rolls On With 3-1 Win Over Scarlet Raptors

Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (8-1-2, 2-0-1 NJAC) kept rolling along as the Ospreys downed Rutgers-Camden (1-6-1, 0-2-1) by a 3-1 score on Wednesday evening. Sydney Williams (Millville/Millville) continued her torrid scoring with pair of goals in the match. The win also extended the Ospreys unbeaten streak to 10 straight matches.

Williams got Stockton on the board at 7:52 when she potted her third goal of the season for a 1-0 lead. The senior took a pass from freshman Sophia Drea (Medford/Shawnee) and fired a shot to the low left corner for the score. It was the first career assist for Drea.

The Scarlet Raptors knotted the game on a penalty kick in the 20th minute to draw even at 1-1. The score would last until the break as both squads could not find room for shots.

The Ospreys ratcheted up the pressure in the final stanza, keeping the visitors on their heels. Williams made it pay off at 56:39 when she took a crossing pass from Emily Hauck (Lebanon, PA/Northern Lebanon). Her fourth goal, all in the last two matches, gave Stockton the lead for good at 2-1.

Just over 11 minutes later, Allie Magas (Lambertville/South Hunterdon) tallied her first career goal to give the Ospreys an insurance marker. Her header off a pass from Jessica Heitmann (Rockaway/Morris Knolls) made it 3-1 in favor of the home squad.

From there it was the Stockton defense that made the score stand up and come away with the 3-1 victory. The 10-game unbeaten streak is the longest since 2019 when the Ospreys ran off an 11-match streak.

Kylee Sullivan (Jackson/Jackson Memorial) did not have to make a save in net for Stockton, and only faced one shot on the evening as Stockton's defense was solid. Chloe Beasley made four saves in goal for Rutgers-Camden.

Stockton will travel to Union, NJ to face Kean University on Saturday for their next matchup. Game time is scheduled for 1 pm.
