Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (7-11, 3-1 NJAC) captured their second straight match with a 3-0 win over visiting Hunter College (2-6) on Thursday night. The Ospreys won by scores of 25-13, 26-24 and 25-18.
Charlotte Leon (Northport, N.Y./Northport) topped the team with 14 kills and an outstanding .500 hitting percentage.

Stockton broke open the first set with eight straight points on the way to the 25-13 win. Leon led the way with six kills, while the defense held the Hawks team to just four kills in the set.

The second stanza was a different story as Hunter sprinted out to a 6-1 lead forcing Stockton into a timeout. The Hawks held a slim 12-9 margin when Stockton posted three straight points, knotting the set at 12-12. Â The visitors would not relent as they kept the pressure on Stockton, gaining another advantage at 23-19.

Stockton took over from there, closing with a 7-1 run highlighted by two kills from
Emma Capriglione (Tuckerton/Pinelands) to claim the 26-24 triumph for a two-set advantage.

Stockton led wire-to-wire in the final set, jumping out to a 7-1 lead and never looking back. Capriglione and
Caity Ullmer (Midland Park/Midland Park) spiked five and four kills respectively in the 25-18 final set to give the Ospreys the victory.

Capriglione helped on the front line with 13 kills and a .393 hitting percentage on the evening.
Aubrey Rentzel (York, Pa./Central York) led all players with 35 assists, with
Sophia Marziello (Haddonfield/Paul VI) scooping a match-high 13 digs.
Teleyah Witherspoon (Hackensack/Hackensack) tallied three blocks to top all players.

Hunter was led by Alexa Sayson with seven kills, with Justine Smith dishing 17 assists. Mariapaz Lojano and Mariam Ouattara served a game-high three aces each.

Stockton will return to NJACÂ play next Tuesday night when they will face William Paterson at home. Game time is scheduled for 7 pm.
