ACUE Mini Courses for Faculty

Grand Valley State University is excited to offer our faculty a professional learning opportunity as part of our commitment to instructional excellence and student success. Over the upcoming spring semester, in partnership with the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE), faculty will have the ability to participate in micro-courses focused on the learning and implementing of research-based teaching practices, each shown to improve student success. Courses will be professionally facilitated and delivered online with a cohort of faculty members, with whom you will share insights and ideas. 

The three course offerings will provide you with practices proven to more actively engage your students in learning and thinking critically. Faculty will learn practices from the following modules (click on the titles below to see a full description of topics):

Important Dates and Deadlines

  • Promoting Active Learning begins on January 10, 2022
  • Promoting Active Learning Online begins on February 14, 2022
  • Inclusive Teaching for Equitable Learning begins on May 16, 2022
  • Cohorts typically complete one module per week, requiring 2-3 hours of activity per week
  • Interested faculty are encouraged to apply by December 9, 2021
  • Notification of selection will be sent after December 10, 2021
