In mid-October, we held our 2019-2020 Annual Meeting virtually with a crowd of more than 250 attendees. The meeting featured the above video focused on the agency’s accomplishments over the past year as well as future plans; followed by a live Q&A with Executive Director, Alan Jennings, and Board of Directors President, Wayne Barz.
Jennings, who has been with the agency since December of 1980, officially announced that he will be leaving at the end of May, 2021. Read more about Alan's departure in the Morning Call, Lehigh Valley Live, or WFMZ.
Barz noted that although the country and our community have had a very tough year, CACLV is financially stronger and operationally tougher than ever before. He said that the staff and leadership behind Alan are “ready for whatever the future delivers” including the transition to a new Executive Director, which is anticipated in early Spring 2021. Earlier this week, our friends at Apollo Grill announced that they've raised $50,000 to help us launch a Scholarship Fund for our Generation Next program.
The total, raised in nearly two months, has exceeded their initial goal of $25,000. Thrilled with the success, Apollo Grill owner Rachel Griffith has set her sights on a new goal - $100,000!
We are grateful to Apollo and the community that has rallied behind this scholarship fund that will help our students navigate the financial challenges that come with college.
Read more about our partnership here.
Generation Next currently serves students in the Bethlehem and Easton Area School Districts and will be expanding to Allentown.
