With the climate crisis intensifying in our communities - wildfire smoke, drought, extreme weather and pollution - how can educators and their students work towards a better future? This year’s TDSB/OISE conference on Saturday October 28, 2023 is designed to help equip K-12 educators with tools to accelerate Climate Change Education (CCE) in their classrooms, with an emphasis on justice and local action. This conference is organized by TDSB EcoSchools and OISE's Sustainability & Climate Action Network (SCAN).
This free, hybrid conference brings together TDSB educators and staff with OISE community members to explore a wide range of inspiring ideas, strategies and resources to foster Climate Change Education in K-12 classrooms. Educators will learn from keynote speakers, workshop leaders and local organizations about involving students in climate change learning that is transformative, action-oriented and community-driven. Come to meet with others passionate about CCE to exchange ideas, build community and find hopeful ways to work towards climate action at all levels of education!
This conference is FREE for TDSB employees and OISE students, staff and faculty, however, registration spots are limited so please register early! TDSB and OISE members will be given first access to register for workshops starting in September. If there are registration spots available, community members are welcome to attend under the General Admission ticket type which will be available starting October 2nd.
Our keynote address will be given by Elder Dr. Duke Redbird and we have a range of workshops available. Please view workshop options here!
