Philadelphia, Pa. – Stockton University rowed in competition for the first time in two weeks as the Ospreys competed in the Navy Day Regatta on the Schuylkill River. Stockton, one of few NCAA Division III teams in attendance, participated in three events, the Women's Open/Collegiate Four, the Women's Open/Collegiate Eight and the Women's Collegiate Frosh/Novice Four.
Stockton entered two boats in the Women's Open/Collegiate Four. The A group of
Chloe Schulze (Little Egg Harbor/Pinelands),
Caitlyn Fogarty (Jackson/Jackson Memorial),
Olivia Hurley (Bayville/Central Regional),
Emily Culmone (Absecon/Ocean City) and coxswain
Kaitlyn Bradley (Mays Landing/Oakcrest) finished 28th with a time of 17:07.52 that was second out of nine Division III entries.
The B squad of
Jany Anderson (Petersburg/Ocean City),
Michaela Pope (Collingswood/Collingswood),
Kayla Bokor (Wayne/Roxbury) and
Catelyn Andrews (Old Bridge/Old Bridge) posted a time of 18:24.44 and placed 35th overall.
Izabelle DelRoss (Egg Harbor City/Cedar Creek),
Brianna Fiorentino (Glassboro/Glassboro),
Jazlyn Farrell (Mays Landing/Cedar Creek) and
Anna Bailey (Barrington/Haddon Hts.) made up Stockton's crew for the Women's Collegiate Frosh/Novice Four. The Ospreys finished ninth overall and third out of six Division III teams at 18:37.75.
The Women's Open/Collegiate Eight unit for Stockton consisted of Hurley, Culmone, Schulze, Anderson, Fogarty, Andrews,
Desarae Dempsey (Franklinville/GCIT),
Karlee Farrell (Vineland/Vineland) plus Bradley as the coxswain. Their time of 15:37.27 was good for second out of four Division III boats and 27th overall.
Next weekend, Stockton will travel to Boston to compete in the famous Head of the Charles Regatta on October 20. The Ospreys will be among more that 11,000 athletes who will compete in the two-day event.
