Jim Brown Shares His Thoughts on “Shade”
‘”Shade’ is the perfect summertime song; escape the daily grind and reality of life and just slip off for a few days for some fun in the sun!,” Brown adds, “Making this video was a lot of fun! I first began writing the storyline based on the lyrics of the song and then other things came to mind – locations, typical directing-type stuff, and the videographer. Randy was awesome in helping me to capture the images that I had in my head and had written down. The actor and actress were so cooperative and the cool thing we endured was that once we arrived, we had about four hours to do every shot because rain was coming. Fifteen minutes after the last shot was taken, it poured down so Lady Luck was on our side in the shade!
“The song was somewhat of a challenge for me because it is a different style of music than I am accustomed to performing. It all fell into place with the amazing talent of my co-producers and the musicians that played on the session…right down to the background vocals.”
