What can oral health providers and professionals do to create more inclusive care settings for patients of all genders and sexualities?

On the last day of LGBTQ Pride Month, CareQuest Institute will host a timely, practical webinar that discusses how to provide better care and supportive environments for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, queer, intersex, and asexual patients. Expert speakers Alex Barrera, DDS, President of the Houston Equality Dental Network, and Rosa Chaviano-Moran, DMD, FICD, associate dean for admissions and a voice for inclusion at Rutgers University School of Dental Medicine, will explore ongoing disparities, generational differences, tips on how to become a better ally for patients, providers, and students, and provide advice on how to make any practice more welcoming to the LGBTQ+ community.

To set the stage for the discussion, Kelly Schroeder, RDH, MS, will share new research on LGBTQIA+ patients gathered from CareQuest Institute’s annual State of Oral Health Equity in America survey.
