Professor Roberts talked about his book, Blacked Out: Government Secrecy in the Information Age, published by Cambridge University Press. During his remarks, Professor Roberts commented on the recent increase in the enactment of freedom of information laws by governments around the world.

He also talked about a number of issues that surround government secrecy that he believes will need to be addressed in the future, including the problem of “government pushback,” an effort to reverse the trend in government transparency. He argued that this is happening in the United States today. He responded to questions from members of the audience. close
