WFNP The Edge Won’t Let You Down, Colbert

This morning, WFNP DJs and E-board members woke up to quite the surprise. Last night, on Thursday, 9/23, our station got its big break. Somehow, some way, we ended up (unknowingly) on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

Here’s the clip…

In his classic “Meanwhile” segment, the topic of Emmy fashion was at the center. Boston’s Rock 92.9, home of “the world’s preeminent fashion experts,” as Colbert jokes, released the controversial piece titled “Gallery: 2021 Emmy’s Red Carpet: 30 Memorable Looks From Worst to Best.”

Colbert goes on to joke about how he’s “long, long relied on Boston’s Rock 92.9 FM for [his] fashion advice.” Clearly, he hasn’t seen our fashionable Edge DJs, since he jokes, “who’s more qualified to comment on someone’s appearance than people who work in radio?”

After reading from the Boston station’s opinionated article, Colbert insists that 92.9 has betrayed him, and he’s going to have to start “getting [his] fashion advice from somewhere else.” That’s where we come in.

“It’s all on you now, SUNY New Paltz WFNP 88.7 The Edge. Don’t let me down,” Colbert concludes his segment, flashing our gorgeous radio tower logo and call letters on the screen beside him.

Cheers to dressing to impress on and off air. We won’t let you down, Stephen.
