SUNY New Paltz Foundation appoints new members, changes to governance

SUNY New Paltz is proud to announce the recently elected SUNY New Paltz Foundation Board officers and directors, including newcomer alumnus Edward Carroll ’85 (Communication and Media), chief operating officer of AMC Networks. New terms on the Board began July 1. Directors all serve for three-year terms and officers for one-year terms.

“We are very grateful to these talented and distinguished volunteer leaders and are honored to welcome another inspiring alumnus to serve our community and our students,” said Executive Director of the Foundation and Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations at SUNY New Paltz Erica Marks. “Our Foundation leaders develop important relationships and help to secure resources in support of the College’s strategic goals.”

Newly elected to the board, Ed Carroll is a 26-year AMC veteran who oversees all operations for the network’s highly-successful brands—AMC, IFC, Sundance Channel and WE tv—as well as advertising sales and the company’s international operations and successful programs, including “Breaking Bad,” “Mad Men,” and “The Walking Dead.” Globally, Carroll has spearheaded the reach of AMC Network’s brands into more than 20 countries across North America, Europe and Asia. Prior to becoming Chief Operating Officer in 2009, Carroll was AMC Network’s President of Entertainment Services. He is married to alumna Gina O’Brien-Carroll ’86. The Carrolls reside in Huntington, N.Y., and New York City.
