Agape Animal Rescue Hurricane Ian Rescue

Tax deductible
My name is Kim, and I proudly serve as the President of the Board of Directors for Agape Animal Rescue, a Nashville based 501(c)(3) non-profit rescue that works tirelessly to save at-risk dogs from euthanasia in the shelter system. Since it was founded in 2004, Agape has rescued over 1,600 dogs who have gone on to be placed permanently placed in loving homes through Agape’s signature foster, training and adoption program.

Now in its 18th year, Agape has renewed its commitment to saving lives and enriching families, firmly believing that responsible pet ownership benefits everyone. Agape hopes to extend its program to meet the increasing need for behavioral training to prevent dogs from being surrendered to the shelter system, partner with other rescues and shelters, and provide training resources that may not otherwise have access.

Agape is a unique and special organization: dogs who go through their program receive complete medical care, behavioral training, and the opportunity to discover the best version of themselves during foster care with experienced, nurturing foster parents. Agape's adoption process is thorough and ensures that dogs will be matched with the perfect forever family. And the process works! Agape consistently maintains a 99% retention rate among adoptive families.

Earlier this week, Agape received a call from one of our rescue partners to assist with the disaster relief efforts in Orange County, Florida. The Orange County Animal Shelter has upwards of 175 dogs in its care. Due to the devastation caused by hurricane Ian, hundreds of dogs and cats need to be relocated to the shelter so they can be reunited with their families or adopted. Agape will bring 15-20 of these sweet pups like Ricky (pictured on the main fundraising page) to Nashville to live with one of Agape's many amazing foster families until they can be adopted.

These pups need your help! Once they arrive in Nashville, they will be vetted, put on any necessary medications and placed in extraordinary foster homes. Agape and I appreciate any assistance you may be able to give to support their mission of being dedicated to finding forever homes for these sweet souls who were displaced by no fault of their own. Your donations will fund the necessary vet care, medications and food needs for the pups. All donations will be sent directly to Agape from GoFundMe.

Thank you for considering supporting Agape's efforts to help rescue some of the dogs affected by hurricane Ian. We appreciate all of your love and support! We want to leave you with a quote from our Executive Director, Tanya Willis:

"I watched the devastation of hurricane Ian unfold on the news when we got the call for help. I knew the Agape team had to hit the road to assist families and pets during this crisis. We are humbled that our supporters so graciously embrace the Agape mission, especially when a community needs such critical support."
