CAMDEN – The owner of Burger King franchises in Buena Borough, Vineland and Millville has filed voluntary petitions for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in federal court here.

The petitions identify the owner and chief executive officer as Eric Salisbury, who operates the fast food restaurants under separate corporations.

The three locations are at 107 Route 54 in Buena; 359 South Main Road, Vineland; and 1601 North High Street, Millville. The petitions were filed June 5 in U.S. bankruptcy Court.

Paul W. Verner, a Marlton attorney representing Salisbury, did not return a call for comment.

A debtor typically files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy when planning to reorganize a business to emerge in viable financial condition, according to the federal court.

Burger King Holdings Inc. itself was sold in late 2010 to 3G Capital for $4 billion.
