  • Mississippi River Infrastructure and Ecology Tour, Aug. 4, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Center for the Environment is organizing a field trip to Alton, Ill., featuring a tour of the Melvin Price Lock and Dam and a visit to the National Great Rivers Research and Education Center (NGRREC), where participants will connect with researchers and explore river systems and watershed-scale design. RSVP by Wednesday, July 30.

  • Visual Informed Consent Workshop, Sept. 25, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. EPNEC on Medical Campus. Informed-consent forms for research can be confusing for participants and challenging for study recruiters.   • Making St. Louis the Nature City of the 21st Century, Sept. 26, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Living Earth Collaborative is hosting the second annual urban biodiversity symposium, focused on collaboration and action. The event will be at the Missouri Botanical Garden’s Bayer Event Center. Learn more and register.
  • The School of Public Health’s annual public health convening, Science for Health Systems, in partnership with the QuEST network, will take place on the Danforth Campus, Oct. 29-31. The meeting will focus on new research on the measurement and improvement of health system performance.
