Five Finger Death Punch matches Disturbed for the most consecutive No. 1s in the history of Billboard‘s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, as “Darkness Settles In” rises 2-1 on the July 3-dated survey.

“Darkness” gives FFDP seven No. 1s in as many visits, dating to the reign of “Sham Pain” for a week in August 2018. It follows “Living the Dream,” which led for a week this February.

The band equals the seven-song lucky streak of No. 1s previously accomplished only by Disturbed from August 2015 (“The Vengeful One”) through September 2019 (“No More”). Its run concluded when “Hold On to Memories” peaked at No. 3 in April 2020.

Five Finger Death Punch now boasts 11 total No. 1s on Mainstream Rock Airplay, dating to its first, “Coming Down,” in September 2012. The band ties Godsmack for the fourth-most leaders since the chart began in 1981.

It’s the fourth single from F8, the band’s eighth studio LP. It debuted at No. 1 on the Hard Rock Albums chart in March 2020 and has earned 325,000 equivalent album units since its release.
