Fellowships
The American Institute for Yemeni Studies (AIYS) holds two annual competitions for fellowships supporting research on Yemen, one for U.S. citizens, limited to countries other than Yemen, and one for citizens of the Republic of Yemen. Both are funded by grants from the State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
Applicants may need to secure additional funding for other expenses or for extended research periods, but in the case of multiple awards AIYS reserves the right to modify or cancel its fellowship offer. U.S. citizens whose research will take them to more than one country are advised to consider applying to CAORC’s Multi-Country Research Fellowship as well as to AIYS. Yemeni applicants will also be considered for funding through AIYS’s Al-Eryani Scholarship Fund.
يقدم المعهد الأمريكي للدراسات اليمنية (AIYS) برنامجين سنويين للزمالة تختص بدعم البحث العلمي حول اليمن: برنامج زمالة خاص بمواطني الولايات المتحدة، وبرنامج زمالة آخر لمواطني الجمهورية اليمنية. يتم تمويل البرنامجين من خلال منح من مكتب الشؤون التعليمية والثقافية بوزارة الخارجية.
وقد يحتاج مقدمو الطلبات إلى تأمين تمويل إضافي لنفقات بحثية أخرى أو في حال استمر البحث لفترات أطول. ولكن في حالة الحصول على منح متعددة، يحتفظ المعهد بالحق في تعديل عرض الزمالة الخاص به أو إلغائه. كما سيتم النظر في تمويل بحوث المتقدمين من المواطنين اليمنيين من خلال صندوق الإرياني للمنح الدراسية التابع للمعهد.
U.S. Scholars Fellowship
AIYS holds an annual fellowship competition supporting research on Yemen and Yemeni Studies for U.S. citizens funded by grants from the State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. The U.S. Scholars Fellowship supports advanced research on Yemeni Studies for U.S. citizens to conduct research outside of the U.S. and Yemen. Project awards are up to $5,000.
برنامج الزمالة الخاص بالباحثين اليمنيين
ينظم المعهد الأمريكي للدراسات اليمنية (AIYS) مسابقة سنوية في برنامج زمالة لدعم البحوث حول اليمن خاص بالباحثين والباحثات من مواطني ومواطنات الجمهورية اليمنية. يقدم هذا البرنامج منح مالية تصل قيمتها إلى 2000 دولار أمريكي لكل طلب بحثي داخل اليمن، ممولة من مكتب الشؤون التعليمية والثقافية التابع لوزارة الخارجية الأمريكية.
Abdulaziz al-Maqaleh Book Award for Yemeni Heritage
AIYS holds a competition annually to fund the publication of academic research books in Arabic by Yemeni scholars in Yemen. We recognize the difficult situation Yemeni scholars currently face and want to provide assistance for publishing their research.
