Q: How long have you been in banking, and will you share a little insight with us about how you became a career banker?

I’ve been in banking for 36 years.  Banking is a great combination of service, analytics and economics.  We get to help people build better businesses and plan for their futures.

Q: What would you tell someone to encourage them to consider a career in banking?

I would definitely encourage them. While the great recession has impacted our industry, banking is still a very rewarding profession.  It requires that you commit to a career-long learning process.  You have the good fortune of working with great people who help you become a better person and a better banker.

Q: What do enjoy most about working at Queensborough National Bank & Trust?

I love being part of an organization that is committed to exceptional service.  Everything we do is geared toward exceeding our customers' expectations.

Q: How have benefited from your participation on GBA Committees and at GBA events like the upcoming Credit Conference?

The GBA Credit Conference always has relevant topics that help me in my role as senior lending officer.  In addition, the contacts that I’ve made over the years have been an invaluable resource. The session covering the impact of the film industry in Georgia is of particular interest.  I want to understand how community banks can participate in this arena.

Q: What is one thing your Queensborough National Bank & Trust co-workers and GBA friends and peers might not know about you?

I’m a World War II buff. I really enjoy books or documentaries about World War II, including those by Stephen Ambrose, Herman Wouk and others.
