NEW PROGRAM: Tlacopac International Artist Residency (Mexico City, Mexico) is a new residency in a vibrant neighborhood in southern Mexico City. Dedicated to the practice and pursuit of all art forms, Residencia Artística Tlacopac welcomes not only individual artists, but also performing arts groups – theater, dance, & music - and college, university, or conservatory level performing arts programs. The site includes a wood-floored performance gymnasium suitable for the development of works by up to 12 members. Applications welcome on a rolling basis. [ read more ]
The Fall 2019 Residency at La Napoule Art Foundation (La Napoule, France) offers time and space for creative individuals to engage in cultural exchange and meaningful work at the Château de la Napoule on the French Riviera. John Michael Kohler Arts Center Arts/Industry residency program (Sheboygan, WI) offers up to twelve artists from around the world access to the Pottery and/or Foundry in the Kohler Co. factory in Kohler, WI. Artists need not be trained ceramists or metal sculptors. The three-month residency program provides 24/7 access to industrial studios, time to explore new ideas and techniques, the opportunity to work with experienced technicians, free housing, transportation and a stipend. Santa Fe Art Institute (Santa Fe, NM) hosts international social justice themed residencies and fellowships for diverse artists and creative practitioners. The theme of SFAI’s 2020 residency season is Labor. SFAI seeks artworks, creative research, and innovative actions that consider what vitality, prosperity, and sustainability might look like beyond profit to envision new systems for “making a living” that elevate all of humanity and infuse our world with freedom, compassion, and harmony; and that reflect the profoundly generative acts of labor. NEW OPPORTUNITY FOR PARENT ARTISTS! With support from Sustainable Arts Foundation, Abrons Arts Center (New York, NY) is pleased to announce the launch of its Parent Artist AIRspace Residency, which provides support for two parent artists working in the visual arts, music, and/or literary arts. The residency provides studio space, free tuition to Abrons Arts Camp for one child and a stipend. Applicant must be NYC-based and must identify as a parent of a child between the ages of 5 and 13. Bethany Arts Community (Ossining, NY) offers residencies to emerging and established artists for the development of both new works and works in progress. Bethany welcomes artists working across most disciplines, including visual artists in any medium, writers, playwrights, choreographers, musicians, composers, performance artists, filmmakers, and lighting, projection, costume and sound designers. Bethany's grounds consist of a 44,000 sq ft building situated on 25 verdant acres with sprawling lawns, orchard, and wooded trails. Residencies are typically 1-4 weeks.
