The USC College of Pharmacy student representatives to the South Carolina Pharmacy Association House of Delegates, Evie Floyd and Caleb Gosnell, attended their first meeting of the 2024-25 academic year. They shared an update on their first experience as delegates:
SCPhA held a House of Delegates meeting held on November 10th. Delegates shared updates
on current advocacy projects, such as PBM reform and collaborative practice agreements,
and discussed the importance of engaging student pharmacists in these efforts to shape
the future of pharmacy. To highlight a few updates:
- Brian Clark, CEO of SCPhA, stated that SCPhA membership has grown by 27.5% over the last year including 131 new student members.
- The SC Board of Pharmacy reported 30,700 active license and permits issued throughout the state for pharmacies and pharmacy professionals.
- Additionally, the board will welcome a new Board Executive in early January who will replace Traci Collier.
