Olivia Lane is ready to get really up close and personal with her fans: On her She Fits Tour, the singer-songwriter will perform not in concert venues, but in fans' houses.

Lane tells The Boot that she was inspired by "a lot of my friends who aren't necessarily in country music" who put on shows in people's basements or living rooms -- private shows for fans and their friends.

"What better way for me to connect one-on-one with my fans, and also try out new music, than just to perform for my superfans and have them invite 25 people and make it a really intimate gathering?" Lane explains. "I think that’s what country music is all about, especially for me. I want to get to meet the people and talk to them."

Lane asked those interested in hosting a concert to apply on her website, but she wasn't prepared for just how many people would want to invite her into their home.

"We’ve already had 300 entries, so I don’t know if we’re going to be able to do all of them," the artist admits. "It’s crazy. I was like, ‘I hope 20 people apply.’ We’re going to kick off a few test runs this year, and then probably full-swing next year."

Asked if she has any anxiety about playing in such smalls place for such small crowds, Lane says that she is looking forward to getting to know her fans in a closer way.

"It’s not like a new audience. They already know my music, they’re already on my team, so it’s like, ‘Alright, let’s go on this journey together. Let me show you some new music,'" Lane notes. "I’m going to get them really involved, too. I haven’t come up with exactly what I want the vibe to be yet, but it’s going to be good.

"There might be some instances where I’m like, ‘That was terrifying,’ but at least I’ve made some new fans," she adds. "But, honestly, after being on the road for two years, I feel like nothing phases me."

Lane is particularly excited about the She Fits Tour because it will be an opportunity for those fans who aren't old enough to watch her play in 21-and-up venues to see her show.

"A lot of my younger fans can’t come to bars, and they can’t come to a lot of the places I play all over America," she says. "So why not go to their living room and have their parental control over the whole party setting?"

But before Lane hits the road in 2017, she will celebrate her favorite holiday, Christmas. The up-and-comer recently released a Christmas single, a cover of "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" that pays homage to the original version, recorded by Brenda Lee.

"I tried to mimic her," Lane concedes. "You know how she has those breaks in her voice? … The song just captures all the happiness I have for Christmas. Christmas is my favorite holiday, so I wanted to capture that same sense of it, but also put my country twang on it."

"Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" is available for purchase on iTunes; a list of all of Lane's upcoming shows is available on her website.
