Tennessee country singer Larry Fleet gives "Workin' Hard" an acoustic touch in a new video, debuting exclusively with The Tennessean.

In the song — first released as the title track of his 2019 debut on Nashville label Big Loud — this warm-voiced and bearded Dickson County native tells stories about what a person can earn from back-bending labor.

He sings, "I've been playing them honky tonks for goin' on 15 years/ Some nights I made a little money, and some nights I sang for beer/ Well, I put some money down on a farm in Tennessee/ Gonna build a little white house for the dogs, my baby and me ... yeah, we got it all from workin' hard."

The song illustrates a blue-collar experience, Fleet said — a life he lived not long before cutting his country debut in Nashville. He enlisted Rhett Akins and Will Bundy to co-write "Workin' Hard."

"The whole backstory of the song came from the way the three of us each grew up and developed into where I am now," Fleet told The Tennessean. "It’s an honest, real-life story that’s true to my life.”

Fleet added, "I was taught my whole life, if you want something you have to work for it. ‘Workin’ Hard’ was the perfect title track for my debut, because that’s been my life story."

Fleet released the "Workin' Hard" album last November; his latest single, "Where I Find God," debuted in April.
