    Educational Technology Spring Webinar Series

Creativity and technology share similarities and are interrelated; their difference lies in their age. Creativity predates any invention or discovery, preceding technological advancements. Initially, creativity paved the way for solving mathematical problems, and subsequently, mathematical problem-solving led to mathematical thinking. Creativity and the resolution of mathematical problems coexist harmoniously, exchanging places in a cause-and-effect relationship. Applying mathematical thinking through creativity results in the innovation of technological devices. The power of creativity within technology fosters computational thinking. In addition, the four concepts of computational thinking—decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithms—contribute to creativity. Creativity is intricately connected to all forms of innovation, including technology. Thus, creativity and technology coexist harmoniously. Where there is technology, there is creativity, but the reverse is not necessarily true. When creativity and technology converge in both time and place, their presence is in complete harmony.
