Topeka West Senior killed in Tuesday night shooting

A senior at Topeka West High School was killed after a shooting Tuesday night.
Topeka Police confirmed Joheem Meredith, 18, of Topeka showed up at a local hospital just after 9:30 p.m. Tuesday with life threatening injuries.
Meredith later succumbed to those injuries.
This is Topeka's ninth homicide this year.
Meredith was set to graduate from Topeka West High School in the coming weeks.
Police believe the shooting occurred somewhere in the parking lot of White Lakes Plaza Apartments, in the 3700 block of SW Plaza Dr.
TPD continued investigating what led to the shooting, and developing leads on potential suspects.
