DSOB Graduate Gives Back

When Catherine (Robb) Shew graduated from Walsh in 1979 with her degree in Finance, Accounting and Management, she never could have predicted the path her career would eventually take. But it was the unplanned opportunities that provided her the most fulfillment. As an active volunteer at her alma mater, Cathy hopes to inspire and provide support to the next generation of young business leaders on their own professional and personal journeys through life.

New Partnership Offers Opportunity to Earn Law Degree in Five Years

Walsh University and the University of Dayton (UD) School of Law are now accepting applications for the new 3+2 program that will allow students to achieve a bachelor's and law degree in as little as five years, rather than the usual seven years. Participating Walsh students can choose from three bachelor degree legal studies tracks in business, sociology and humanities.

DeVille School of Business Welcomes New Professor of Accounting

With more than 20 years of experience and 13 years as a Certified Public Accountant in industry, Tanya Carson joined the DeVille School of Business this fall as a Professional Assistant Professor of Accounting.

Online MBA Program Earns Top National Rankings

The DeVille School of Business online MBA Program in Marketing recently earned two top 10 spots nationally for affordability while the online MBA in Healthcare Management was recognized as a top 20 program for quality and affordability.

Student Spotlight

Several months before his graduation, Walsh business senior Christopher Himmelman has already landed a job. He credits the connections he made through the DeVille School of Business for helping him obtain a summer internship, and a position after graduation, with American Greetings headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio.

Alumna Honored with Inaugural Leadership Award

DeVille School of Business alumna Dana Wobser ’05 & ’06 was honored by the Walsh Alumni Association for her career success, service to the community and active commitment to Walsh with one of two new Young Alumni Leadership Awards. The inaugural awards were presented during Homecoming Weekend’s annual Outstanding Alumni Award Dinner.

The Garage Under New Management

With its four founders all graduated, the Garage is under new leadership this year, led by students Bill Afras, Brandyn Neal and Maggie Anderson. The first female member of the Garage leadership team, Anderson is also the first non-Business major to manage the space. Maggie is a sophomore from Sacramento, CA, with a double major in Graphic Design and Communication, as well as an Art minor.

Student Organizations Provide Service, Enhance Professional Skills
DeVille School of Business student organizations actively contributed to their community this semester, while honing professional and interpersonal skills outside of the classroom. They also had a little fun while doing it.

MBA Alum Revolutionizes Local Pharmacy Industry

With patients at the heart of every decision, Walsh DeVille School of Business alum John Feucht hasn’t rested on his laurels as the System Director of Pharmacy Services for Summa Health System, responsible for all pharmacy operations within the health system. In his three years with Summa, John has implemented three new initiatives that are focused on patient safety, patient satisfaction and increasing efficiency in the pharmacy.

Accounting Students Engage in Professional Networking

Students enrolled in Walsh’s accounting courses are benefiting from a series of enhanced opportunities to network with professionals in the field. Through monthly roundtables, service programs and a reestablished Accounting Advisory Board, students are finding new ways to build the professional relationships that will augment their coursework and provide a foundation of support as they embark on their own accounting career paths.
