Dolly Parton Goes Reggae – And It Works?

What can’t Dolly do? And yes, you read the title right…

Dolly now has a reggae version of her hit “Two Doors Down.”

A group of Jamaican musicians and sound engineers called Positive Vibrations have dubbed their island sounds into their favorite country songs. The album, Country Goes Reggae, is set to be released on July 22, 2022.

Who better to release as a preview single than Mrs. Dolly Parton.

The single, “Two Doors Down,” was initially written and recorded by Parton in 1978 and was released on her album, Here You Come Again.

The song is written about rebounding with a man from a party two doors down from her apartment.

This song’s reggae country fusion edition is perfect for adding to your summer playlist.

The addition of horns and the heavy bass beat add a catchy tempo.

Positive Vibrations also released “Eyes on You” from Chase Rice.

These two previews combine the two genres well and have me excited for the rest of the album.

The project takes its spin on hit songs from other artists like Randy Houser, Toby Keith, Rascal Flatts, Lainey Wilson, and more.

Could this album release be the perfect summer gift?

We will have to see on July 22nd.
