NEWS ALERT

Reserve Your Seat at the Oklahoma Arts Education Research Presentation

With Oklahomans pursuing solutions for improving our education system, an upcoming presentation will give educators, school administrators and board members, teaching artists, nonprofit staff members, and others updates on meaningful research being conducted on arts education in our state.
Presented by the Oklahoma Arts Council, the Oklahoma Arts Education Research Presentation will take place Tuesday, February 28, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Oklahoma Judicial Center in Oklahoma City. There is no cost to attend.
Featuring Linda Wurzbach, President of Resources for Learning, LLC, an organization that specializes in the development, implementation, and evaluation of standards-based educational reforms, this special presentation will highlight the results of work by the state's SP3 Task Force.
Oklahoma Arts Council Executive Director Amber Sharples will explain how the work of the SP3 Task Force will strengthen arts education, detailing how students statewide will benefit from the work being performed. Oklahomans for the Arts Executive Director Julia Kirt will preview next steps for the research and illustrate ways in which all Oklahomans can be involved in putting it into action.
Led by the Oklahoma Arts Council, the state's SP3 Task Force is part of Americans for the Arts' State Policy Pilot Program (SP3). Oklahoma is one of 10 states selected to participate in the program, launched in 2014. The research has been funded by Americans for the Arts. Reserve your seat to learn more about the important work being conducted through the SP3 initiative.
