A suspect has been arrested after a shooting in the parking lot of a Southwest Portland strip club left a man dead Thursday, police said Friday.

Jordan Clark, 25, has been arrested and charged with one count of second-degree murder, police said.

At least 22 police officers responded to Reveal Lounge on Southwest Barbur Boulevard about 8:15 p.m.

Posts on various social media platforms Friday alleged race was a factor in the shooting, but Portland police mid-afternoon said they had interviewed multiple witnesses and no evidence supported that assertion.

Portland police have not confirmed the identity of the man who was shot, but on Facebook and Twitter, several family members of Portland man Dominique Dunn said he was the victim, and that a white man shot him after yelling a racial slur at him. Dunn was Black.

In an interview with OPB, Reveal Lounge owner Javier Garcia said he had turned over security footage of the shooting to police.

He said when he first reviewed the footage, he saw three Black men talking with two other men, one white and one Latino, on the patio of the lounge. The men went into the club together, then came back out a few minutes later. Garcia told the news organization it was clear the two groups of men knew each other and seemed to be friends, but he didn’t know the names of anyone involved. He said after the two groups split off and headed to their respective cars, the white man came back and started firing at the group of Black men while they were already in their car.
