Undergraduate Degrees with Teaching Certification

UMSL's undergraduate programs with certification are campus-based programs that give students field and practicum experiences in school settings culminating in Missouri teacher certification. Upon completion, students will be well versed in their field and will be able to step directly into a teaching position.

At about 50 credit hours, or at the completion of the General Education and Intro to Education courses, all BSEd students must meet UMSL and Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) requirements to enroll in and continue BSEd and teacher certification courses. Requirements include minimum GPA, course completion, and assessments. Detailed information is available from your assigned BSEd and certification program advisor.

Undergraduate Degrees Without Certification

UMSL's undergraduate programs without certification give students the ability to hone their education skills outside of a traditional classroom. Traditional state teacher certification is not required for the Bachelor of Educational Studies emphasis areas.
