Virtual Commencement is finally here! Even in unexpected circumstances, we’re so excited to have this opportunity to celebrate with our community.
There are three ways to watch our pre-recorded, virtual Commencement ceremonies when they go live tomorrow, May 22, at 1 p.m.:
- Watch on our custom Commencement page: The College worked with a third-party company called MarchingOrder to create our virtual ceremonies. Our undergraduate, graduate and Honors Program ceremonies will be hosted on specific web pages, where you can find all Commencement videos and slides recognizing each individual graduate. The web addresses to these Commencement pages on MarchingOrder will be shared via email and social media at launch, and links will also be available at https://newpaltz.edu/commencement/. These pages can be accessed at any time after launch and will remain viewable for one year.
- Join our Facebook Live Watch Party: At 1 p.m. on May 22, the College will host a special Facebook Live stream of the virtual undergraduate Commencement ceremony, as an opportunity for our community to celebrate together from our socially distant remote locations. We’ll follow up with a graduate Commencement ceremony Watch Party at 2:30. You can join us on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/newpaltz/.
- View the Commencement videos on YouTube: We’ll also be uploading our Commencement videos, including remarks from speakers, musical performances and recognition of graduates, to the College’s YouTube account. The videos will be accessible after the 1 p.m. launch at https://www.youtube.com/user/sunynewpaltz.

Tomorrow at launch, we’ll send out a link to a single, Commencement 2020 webpage where you can find photos, videos, links and news about events including Honors Program Graduation, Lavender Celebration, First World Graduation, School of Business Awards, Fine Arts exhibitions, Engineering Design Expo, Student Research Symposium, Outstanding Graduates, Senior Toast and more.
