That's Right!

You Chose "B" Roller Skates – That's Correct!

Kim Fields wore roller skates during the first year of The Facts of Life.

The Facts of Life (1979-1988) was a TV show featuring a group of girls who attended a boarding school and learned lessons about life from its housemother, Mrs. Edna Garrett.

Kim Fields was only 10 years old when she started playing the 12-year-old character Tootie. In an effort to make her appear taller and older, Tootie was always in roller skates for the first year of the show. She wore them inside, outside, and even going up and down stairs. But this footwear disappeared, without explanation, when the second season began.

The Facts of Life was the longest running show to feature an all-female lead cast (although there were several recurring male characters).

Despite the fact that The Facts of Life was a popular and successful show, producer Norman Lear never put his name on the credits, opting for the more generic identification of Tandem Productions. Lear also never mentions the show in interviews.
