By: Discovery

The Curiosity Daily podcast catches gold fever.

October 25, 2019

Gold is one of the most sought after substances in the world. Although not the rarest metal (that honor goes to rhodium) it is one of the most important.

A total of 186,700 tons of gold exists above ground, as of 2015 according to the World Gold Council. But how much gold is still left in the Earth? Gold Rush miners, Rick Ness and Tony Beets, think there is enough to keep their mining operations going for generations to come.

Listen to this week's Curiosity Daily with hosts Cody Gough and Ashley Hamer as they learn about gold mining from Gold Rush's best. You'll learn about modern-day gold mining techniques, how a sluice boxe works, and more to get you ready to stake a claim.
