Raven Blake starred on the State University of New York at New Paltz women's soccer team for four seasons and became team MVP as a senior in 2018 and the recipient of the Michelle Vargas Robin Award, along with garnering a spot on the SUNYAC Commissioner's Honor Roll in 2017 and 2018. Blake, who was also enshrined in the Chi Alpha Sigma National Honor Society, graduated in May of 2019 with a degree in Communication Disorders.
 
Blake talked about her time as a Hawk and why there is only one SUNY New Paltz. 
 

"New Paltz is a town where you immediately feel at home, and simply put, being on a sports team at SUNY New Paltz buys you some of the best years of your life. The moment I became a student-athlete I became part of something bigger than myself. I became a member of a team, organization and community. As a student-athlete, I learned several lessons that have remained valuable as a former collegiate athlete and now current graduate student. When asked what I love about New Paltz, it is challenging to summarize my love for the school and its town. From its quirky shops to the views at Minnewaska to the student-athletes cheering at sports games, New Paltz has so much to offer. I guess between you and me, and anyone else who has had the "New Paltz experience," we all know that there is really only one SUNY New Paltz."
