Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University hosted a meet for the second straight weekend, this time the Osprey Open at G. Larry James Stadium. The Ospreys won five events at the two-day meet.
 
Gavin Lum (Manakawkin/Southern Regional) led the way with victories in the pole vault (3.85m) in a field of 10 and 110m hurdles (15.87 seconds) in a field of six. Freshman Chris Griffin (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) won the javelin out of 16 and qualified for the AARTFC Championships (52.99m).
 
On the track, Erik Ackerman (Long Valley/West Morris Central) took the 1500m out of 31 runners (4:10.29) and the quartet of Anthony Gentile (North Cape May/Lower Cape May), Marcellus Malloy (Marlton/Cherokee), Darnell Cartwright (Bridgeton/Cumberland) and Santana Wittenburg (Monmouth Jct./South Brunswick) won out of 14 teams in the 4x400 relay (3:27.72).
 
In addition to the five wins, the 4x100 relay unit of Gentile, Malloy, Anthony McCullough (Hi-Nella/Sterling) and Shane Moore (Burlington/Burlington Twp.) qualified for the AARTFC Championships and placed second out of 10 (43.29 seconds).
 
Stockton will go on the road for the first time in the outdoor season when they compete in the University of Delaware Invitational next Saturday, April 6.
