The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society invites you to join us as Dr. Hannah Fisher of Duke University School of Medicine teaches cancer patients and survivors how to manage their symptoms and improve sleep through a natural practice called Mindfulness.
In its final year, Dr. Fisher has been conducting a National Cancer Institute-funded study to develop and test a mindfulness-based sleep and symptom management intervention for patients with hematologic cancer who have completed inpatient treatment. During this program, Dr. Fisher will share some early findings from her own research, as well as additional work on mindfulness-based techniques from fellow researchers. Through a series of experiential mindfulness exercises, attendees will learn the key principles of mindfulness and how to apply mindfulness to help manage common symptoms of cancer treatment, such as fatigue, sleep problems, pain, and stress. Dr. Fisher will host a brief Q&A session for attendees following her presentation.
We encourage you to invite your friends and family to join us for this program. We look forward to seeing you there.
We hope you can join us for this free in-person education event!
