Preparing for the launch of new Blackboard Annotate upgrade

Blackboard assignments will receive an upgrade with a new tool called Blackboard Annotate in August 2020.

Blackboard Annotate will provide teaching faculty with a wider range of features than in the current tool, including far more options for marking papers. Faculty can learn more about the features of this new tool and watch a video demonstration (2:02).

All assignments submitted through the current tool will automatically be migrated to Blackboard Annotate, so faculty do not need to make any changes to how they create or receive assignments.

The exact upgrade date has not yet been released. The Office of Instructional Technology will share that information with the campus community as soon as it is available.

We particularly encourage faculty who are teaching summer 2020 courses to watch for updates about Blackboard Annotate, as the upgrade is projected to be implemented before the end of the summer 2020 term.
