October 1, 2022, marked the 60th anniversary of the integration of the University of Mississippi when alumnus James Meredith became the first African American student to enroll at the university. The University will be celebrating this anniversary throughout the entire 2022-2023 academic year. The first volume of letters was presented to Mr. Meredith at the signature event during the week of celebration of integration. We will be collecting a second volume of letters that focus on "Building upon the Legacy." Your letter can 1) express your gratitude to Mr. Meredith and 2) share how you commit to building upon your legacy. We will accept letters on an ongoing basis, but please aim to submit letters by December 14, 2022.
