New MASK hotline for reports of noncompliance with public health rules

The College has established a new campus hotline at (845) 257-MASK (6275) to receive reports of noncompliance with public health rules and expectations, as part of our community-wide effort to encourage pro-social behavior and reduce the transmission of coronavirus.

As previously announced, we enter the fall semester with a number of new health and safety regulations in place, including the expectation that all students, faculty and staff wear masks or face coverings inside all buildings and in any situation when six feet of social distance cannot be maintained, except when eating in groups of six or fewer people.

Members of our community, including neighbors and visitors to campus, may observe individuals who are not in compliance with these expectations. The (845) 257-MASK hotline is designed to receive reports of noncompliance or other concerns.

Please note that University Police is NOT the appropriate contact for reports of noncompliance with public health regulations.

Callers to (845) 257-MASK will be asked to leave a message with the following information:

  • The caller’s full name, phone number and email address (anonymous referrals will not receive a response)
  • The nature of their concern
  • The name(s) of the individual(s) whose behavior they witnessed (if known), as well as the date, time and location it occurred.

SUNY New Paltz staff members will be operating this hotline and will follow up with incident reports as soon as possible after they are received. Student Affairs will handle reports about students; Human Resources, Diversity & Inclusion will handle reports about employees. Students may face judicial charges and employees may face disciplinary action for noncompliance.

As always, we thank all students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members for adopting a “We, not Me” attitude and working together to protect the health and safety of our campus, village and surrounding region this fall.

Stephanie Blaisdell, Vice President for Student Affairs
Tanhena Pacheco Dunn, Associate Vice President for Human Resources, Diversity & Inclusion
