Gallloway, N.J. - The Stockton University women's rowing team received votes in national poll for the first time in school history. The Ospreys sit just outside the 15 ranked teams in this week's
Pocock CRCA Division III poll, which is administered by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association, with 10 votes.
Stockton is coming off its best finish ever at the Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference Championships, second place, on April 25. Receiving votes in the CRCA poll is just the latest milestone for the women's rowing program, which has quickly risen up the Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference and NCAA Division III realm under third-year head coach
John Bancheri.
Prior to the MARC Championships, Stockton hosted dual racing against different opponents on four consecutive weekends at the Atlantic City Boat House. The Ospreys won a total of six individual races, with four victories by the varsity eight and two by the varsity four.
Stockton is scheduled to compete next at the famous Dad Vail Regatta on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia on May 8.
