Stockton Remains Unbeaten with 18-12 Victory

Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (4-0) wrapped up its season-opening four-game homestand with an 18-12 victory over Elizabethtown (0-3) that was the fourth straight win for the Ospreys. Stockton took the lead for good in the second quarter.

Freshman Alex DeLierre (Basking Ridge/Bridgewater-Raritan) led the offense with career highs of seven goals and eight points. Colin Hopkins (Springfield, Pa./Springfield Delco) chipped in with two goals and two assists.

Scoring runs were the story of the first half. DeLierre and Connor Albrecht (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West), who tallied three points (1 G, 2 A) on the night, gave Stockton a 2-0 lead in the first five minutes. Elizabethtown then reeled off five straight goals in the last 6:43 of the quarter for a 5-2 count.

The Ospreys regrouped with a five-goal run of their own in the second quarter to go back in front 7-5. DeLierre tossed in three markers and defender Shane Phillips (Springfield, Pa./Springfield Delco) fired his first career goal and one of his two tallies on the night.

The Blue Jays got within one early in the third quarter before goals by DeLierre and Hopkins 25 seconds apart made it 9-6. Stockton led 12-9 after three and doubled Elizabethtown 6-3 in the fourth period to maintain a comfortable lead and win its fourth straight, 18-12.

Stockton goalkeeper Colin Bernstein (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) made 10 saves in the victory. Tyler Horvath (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South) won 20 of 32 faceoffs, snagged a game-high 15 ground balls and contributed offensively with a goal and an assist.

Colin Kondracki paced the visitors with four goals and an assist while Tristan Coleman registered a goal and five assists. Blue Jays' goalie Brayden Franey made 14 saves.

Stockton will play its first road game of the season on Saturday when the Ospreys visit Marymount University for a 1:00 p.m. matchup.
