Stockton Sweeps Ramapo 3-0

Mahwah, N.J. – Stockton University (18-7, 6-2 NJAC) played its final conference match of the season and swept Ramapo College (3-17, 1-7 NJAC) 3-0. The Ospreys sealed the No. 3 seed for the NJAC Tournament with the 25-18, 25-15, 26-24 victory.
 
Camille De La Torre (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) led Stockton with a career-high 15 kills to go with a .343 hitting percentage. De La Torre also served a career-high four aces. Kate Louer (Clifton/Clifton) spiked 10 kills, reaching double figures for the third straight match.
 
Jaylah Rolle (Williamstown/Williamstown) chipped in with nine kills and three blocks while setters Kristen Burton (Millersville, Md./Archbishop Spalding) and Regan Mendick (Newark, Del./Red Lion Christian) dealt 17 and 16 assists respectively. McKenna Ritchie (Newark, Del./Newark Charter) scooped a match-high 12 digs.
 
Stockton trailed 11-10 in the first set before taking control with seven straight points for a 17-11 lead. The Ospreys later reeled off five in a row highlighted by a kill and two aces from De La Torre on the way to the 25-18 triumph.
 
Stockton faced an early 8-2 deficit in the second frame and then turned it around with another seven-point explosion sparked by two kills from De La Torre and two aces by Ritchie. Two more kills by De La Torre and an ace by Burton helped the Ospreys extend to 14-9, and they pulled away for the 25-15 win.
 
Stockton again fell behind early in the third set, this time 5-0. Later, a kill by Louer put the Ospreys in front 22-20, but Ramapo answered with four straight markers for a 24-22 edge. Stockton erased two set points for a 24-24 tie and then scored two more to complete the sweep 26-24.
 
Stockton will finish the regular season with a tri-match at Neumann University on Saturday. The Ospreys will face Neumann at 10:00 a.m. and Salisbury at noon.
