Galloway, N.J. – Four Stockton University cross country runners, two each from the men's and women's teams, qualified for
USTFCCCA All-Region honors from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. All four Ospreys earned all-region accolades for the first time in their careers.
Jessie Klenk (Somerdale/Sterling) and
Olivia Harris (Sammamish, Wash./Eastlake) were Stockton's female all-region qualifiers while
Sam Tenenbaum (Monroe Twp./Monroe Twp.) and
Stephen Conte (Washington Twp.) were all-region runners for the Osprey men's team.
All-Region status went to the top 35 finishers at the NCAA Metro Regionals, which were held at Dream Park in Logan Twp., N.J. on Saturday. In the women's race, Klenk finished 19th out of 169 runners with a time of 23:32.2 while Harris placed 27th at 23:44.1. The times were 6K personal bests for both Klenk and Harris.
Klenk and Harris added the USTFCCCA All-Region kudos to an NJAC First Team spot for Klenk and NJAC Second Team nod for Harris earlier in the season.
Tenenbaum finished 34th out of 157 runners in the men's 8K race with a time of 26:43.6 followed by Conte four seconds later in 35th place at 26:47.5.
Klenk, Harris, Tenenbaum and Conte led their respective teams to their best finish ever at an NCAA Regional as the Stockton women finished sixth out of 24 teams and the Osprey men placed 10th out of 21 squads.
