Finn Reynolds and Tim Sandkaulen Ranked No. 1 Pairing in the Nation

Rebels Enter Top-10 Team Rankings, Reynolds Reaches No. 12 in Singles

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Ole Miss Rebels (7-7, 4-3 SEC) soared up the leaderboards in both team and individual rankings in the latest ITA/Oracle and USTA/Tennis Channel rankings released on Wednesday.
 
Reynolds and Sandkaulen Achieve Top Ranking
 
Finn Reynolds and Tim Sandkaulen can add another milestone to their historical careers, ranking as the number one pair in all of college tennis. The 2020 ITA All-American tandem improved in the doubles ranks from No. 7 all the way to the top of the charts. Reynolds and Sandkaulen have won eight of 10 matches this season and are 2-1 versus nationally ranked opponents (all in the top-50). Last weekend Reynolds and Sandkaulen earned victories over Tulsa's No. 29 Connor Di Marco and Kody Pearson and Oklahoma State's Matej Vocel and Henrik Korsgaard (Currently No. 24 ranked).
 
 
Rebels Voted No. 9 Team in the Country
 
The Rebels move into the ITA top-10 team rankings for the first time this season. Ole Miss improved nine spots from their previous rank of No. 18 and surpass their best ranking this season of No. 17. The Rebels have won four of their last six matches. Ole Miss has faced eight consecutive ranked opponents.
 
Rebels Climb Up the Singles Leaderboard
 
In singles, Reynolds leads the Rebels as the No. 12 ranked individual student-athlete. Reynolds was unranked in the previous rankings (Jan. 13). In 2021 he has won eight of 14 matches while featuring for the Rebels at both No. 1 and No. 2 singles. Reynolds has earned five ranked wins this season versus ITA top-100 opponents. Reynolds has faced 11 ranked opponents this year and has defeated the No. 9 ranked and No. 13 ranked players in the country. On March 7 Reynolds defeated Hady Habib in the Rebels' victory over Texas A&M. Habib currently ranks No. 1 in the country.
 
After beginning the season unranked, Nikola Slavic was voted as the No. 36 singles player in the nation. Slavic has started for the Rebels at No. 3 Singles in every match this season. He has a 9-5 dual record and leads Ole Miss with six victories versus ranked opponents. Slavic is in the midst of a hot-streak and has won five of six matches this month including three ranked victories.
Sandkaulen ranks No. 65 in singles in the latest ITA poll. Sandkaulen opened the season ranked No. 62. After a slow start to the season, Sandkaulen is 5-4 in his last nine matches.
 
Coming Up
 
Ole Miss will host rival Mississippi State at home on Sunday, March 28, at 1 p.m. C.T. The Bulldogs are currently ranked No. 11 in the nation.
