History made at Wisconsin’s largest business school 

UW-Whitewater’s College of Business and Economics (CoBE) has become the first business school in the United States to earn the EFMD Global Business School Impact System (BSIS) label, joining an elite group of just over 100 schools across 30 countries recognized for independently verified, measurable impact. CoBE is now America's first globally certified impact business school. 

Warhawk beer debuts at Sept. 6 football game 

UW-Whitewater Athletics and Duesterbeck’s Brewing Company of Elkhorn partnered to create UW-Whitewater Warhawks Light Ale, a beer available to guests 21 and older inside the Champions Club at Perkins Stadium. This locally brewed beverage includes a can designed by UW-Whitewater art major Makai Johnson (pictured), son of Duesterbeck’s owners Ben and Laura Johnson.

UW-Whitewater at Rock County, our satellite location in nearby Janesville, has opened its doors for six decades to students seeking opportunity, looking for a fresh start, balancing work and family, or simply discovering who they are.

Support students for the Warhawk Internship & Career Fair 

Over the next few weeks, consider helping students prepare for the Fall Warhawk Internship & Career Fair on Wednesday, Sept. 30. Career Services is offering drop-in Resume Cafés, an Internships 101 session, the Career Fair Pregame & Mocktail Night, and an Arts and Communication Career Fair prep session in the weeks leading up to the annual event. Athletics fall 2026 rosters posted

Rosters for the UW-Whitewater volleyball, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, women’s tennis, and women’s golf teams were revealed ahead of the start of the fall season. UW-Whitewater at Rock County’s volleyball roster was also announced.

Kudos

Kudos to Sakshi Bhardwaj, assistant professor of economics, who was named an Equity and Inclusion Travel Fellow by the National Tax Association.

Kudos to Kerri Wrinn, associate professor in the College of Integrated Studies, Anneke Lisberg, associate professor of biology and assistant chancellor for inclusivity and belonging, Stephen Levas, associate professor of biology, geography, and geology, and Denise Roseland, associate professor of curriculum and instruction, for publishing "Centering Relationships, Active Teaching, and Career Development in One STEM Teaching Practicum" in New Directions in Community Colleges on July 28.

Kudos to UW-Whitewater’s Phi Delta Theta Wisconsin Zeta chapter for earning the organization’s silver star award for 2025-26.

Kudos to Paul Nylen, associate professor of accounting, who presented at the Bitcoin Education Institute Annual Conference on July 31 at George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

Zach Oster, associate professor and chair of the computer science department, and Jason Janke, dean of the College of Letters and Sciences, were quoted in an article that appeared in Milwaukee Commerce, a magazine by the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce (MMAC), about UW-Whitewater’s artificial intelligence major. UW-Whitewater’s Observatory was featured in an article by Little Astronomy about observatories to visit in Wisconsin.

 

Trevor Roznowski, academic advisor and assistant track and field coach, was highlighted in The Alpena News after leading instruction at Sunrise Side Throws, a clinic held in Alpena, Michigan, over the summer.
