Written Brief:
To publicize the brutal murder that the industrial sector commits with impunity on the coasts of Quintero and Puchuncaví, we carried out “El Sacrificio”, the most dangerous surfing championship in the world.

Objectives Bring to light the harsh reality experienced by the inhabitants of Quintero and Puchuncaví and their surroundings. Create an event that allows us to give visibility and open the conversation about the so-called "sacrifice zones" in Chile during the weeks prior to the presidential elections.

Strategy The beaches of Quintero and Puchuncaví were the cradle of surfing in Chile, but today, the pollution generated by the industrial cordon and the thermoelectric plants that operate there have turned it into a sacrifice zone. To draw the attention of public opinion, we held the most dangerous surfing tournament in the world: not because of the size or speed of its waves, but because of the brutal pollution that affects the environment in the area.

Results and repercussions +110,000 actions on social networks +$500,000 in media earned +100,000 signatures on the Greenpeace petition to close thermoelectric plants We managed to get the "sacrifice zone" located in Quintero on the agenda of the presidential debates.
