The Invention Studio is a student-run makerspace open to the Georgia Tech community. It is staffed by the Prototyping Instructors, student volunteers who are on hand to train you and help with your projects. Use of the studio is free for all students, faculty and staff of Georgia Tech, regardless of year, major, or prior experience.
The Invention Studio is unique in that students are encouraged to “own” the space. Prototyping Instructors, or PIs, lead other students in the use and maintenance of the space, ensuring that the resources remain available to those who wish to use them. We promote an ethic of responsibility, safety, and community ownership so that students can explore and develop unconventional ideas in a supporting environment.
Summer Hours
Open Hours: 3-5pm, M-W
After-Hours Training: 6-8pm, M-W
Studio opens on May 28, 2024, and will close July 19th, 2024.
Who We Are
We Are Students.
Our Prototyping Instructors are students from all majors and backgrounds who volunteer at least 3 hours a week to repair the equipment, organize events, and teach any visitors who utilize the space.

The Flowers Invention Studio evolved into a cutting-edge, state-of-the-art makerspace over the Summer of 2018. The new space was designed by HLG Studios with direct input from the Prototyping Instructors.
We Are a Community.
We’ve supported the DIY mentality and hands-on education of Georgia Tech since our humble beginnings in 2009. We empower students, staff and faculty to build, tinker, and hack their way to a brighter future.
