Ready to roll up your sleeves? Not afraid to get ink on your fingers? Museum visitors of all ages are invited to explore printmaking with three hands-on, drop-in workshops. Create your own handmade paper and letterpress impression with InterOcean Studio. Crank a linoleum block through a press to create a relief print with Angel Estrada and Raymundo Munoz. Explore the colorful world of gelatin prints with Victoria Eubanks.
Experience Mo'Print at Print Jam, an extensive live exhibit of fine art printmaking techniques. On Saturday, March 19th, Denver's Month of Printmaking will present the expansive artistic skill of local printmakers through 14 live demonstrations and 3 hands-on workshops. Areas of expertise include lithography, intaglio, relief, monotype, letterpress, screenprint, collagraph, and paper making. You're not going to want to miss this print party at the museum!
Ongoing demos on view from 11 am—4 pm:
- Lithography on stone and aluminum plate with Gregory Santos and Emily Moyer
- Intaglio with copper etching, drypoint in color, and zinc etching with Chine Colle with Brady Smith, Gail Boyd, and Mark Lunning
- Relief with blend roll woodblocks and plastic plate engraving with Jennifer Ghormley and Johanna Mueller
- Monotype with viscosity rolls, stenciling, and experimental techniques with Joe Higgins, Taiko Chandler, and Mami Yamamoto
- Letterpress on handmade paper with Lucy Holtsnider and InterOcean Studio
- Screenprint in multiple colors with Mandi Quinn and Javier Flores
- Collagraph with found materials with Virginia Diaz Saiki
