CAB Craft: Pennant Making

Thursday, Aug. 21, 1-2 p.m. | Kirkhof Center, Clocktower Plaza

Join CAB and get crafty — design your own custom pennant to deck out your dorm or apartment! All supplies provided, just bring your creativity! On August 21 from 1-2 p.m. we will be at the Kirkhof Center, near the Clocktower (weather permitting). If indoors, we will be located in the Kirkhof Lobby.

Laker Kickoff Party

Friday, Aug. 22, 6-11 p.m. | Lubbers Stadium & Kirkhof Lawn

6 p.m. - 7 p.m. | Welcome Celebration at Lubbers Stadium 
A welcome celebration for new incoming students including remarks from President Philomena V. Mantella,
traditional first-year student class photo, appearances by the Laker Marching Band, GV Cheer Team, Laker Dance Team, and more!

7-11 p.m. | Kirkhof Lawn Party
Join fellow Lakers for a festival, food trucks, DJ, and fun!

10 p.m. | Fireworks and Drone Show
Don't miss the fireworks and drone show from the Kirkhof Lawn viewing area!

CAB Tie-Dye

Saturday, Aug. 23, 1-3 p.m. | Kirkhof East Lawn

Join us on Saturday, August 23 from 1-3 p.m. for Welcome Week tie-dye!

Get ready to add some color to your closet! Join CAB for a fun and creative tie-dye session on the East Lawn near Zumberge Pond. We’ll have XL t-shirts available while supplies last — or bring your own items to dye! Think socks, pillowcases, bucket hats… the possibilities are endless. All tie-dye supplies provided — just bring your imagination!

Movie on the Field

Saturday, Aug. 23, 8-10 p.m. | Lubbers Stadium

Grab your friends and your coziest blankets and head to Lubbers Stadium for a magical outdoor movie experience with the Campus Activities Board! We’re showing the brand new “How to Train Your Dragon”; come laugh, cheer, and fly along with Hiccup and Toothless on the big screen!

Don’t miss this chance to chill out, vibe under the stars, and make some core memories. In case of rain, we’ll move the fun indoors to the Kelly Sports Center.

Quick heads up! No food or drinks (except water) are allowed on the field — but feel free to snack it up in the bleachers before settling in!

Speed Friending

Looking to make new friends and have a great time? Look no further! Join the Campus Activities Board in Kirkhof Center Room 2263 for a night of laughs, connections, and pizza as we kick things off with a fast-paced, fun-filled round of Speed-Friending!

New faces. New friends. Same amazing GV vibes.

But wait — the night doesn’t stop there! After the fun, head over with your new crew to the Grand River Room (Kirkhof 2250) for a mind-blowing performance by the one and only Daniel Martin, a nationally acclaimed magician returning to campus by popular demand!

You’ll be amazed. You’ll laugh. You’ll wonder how’d he do that?!

Wednesday, Aug. 27, 6-7 p.m. | Kirkhof Fusion Lounges

Join the Campus Activities Board for a relaxing and artsy Tote Bag Decorating event!

Bring the tote you picked up at Campus Life Night and head to the Kirkhof Center to make it your own — personalize it, style it, and let your creativity shine! 

Didn’t grab a tote? No worries — we’ll have a limited number of blank totes available first come, first served!

After an action-packed Welcome Week, come chill out, get crafty, and bond with new friends over good vibes and fun designs.
